Lesson Six – Plant Instructions

Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to identify and describe effective ways of growing different types of plants, a template to select and record a set of instructions about how to grow different types of plants in a garden and a worksheet to choose a range of different word phrases to use when composing instructions about how to grow plants.

The interactive presentation can be used to explore how to write sets of instructions about how to grow healthy plants and flowers in a garden.

This lesson is part of a science scheme of work to get the children to identify and describe the basic structure of a variety of common flowering plants and investigate and test how to support plant growth. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
