Lesson Two – Hundreds and Hundreds
This maths teaching pack for Key Stage Two gets the children to practise multiplying different numbers by one hundred and record changes to the place value of their digits following each calculation.
The class can use a set of number cards to model how to count in steps of one hundred to check the matching products when multiplying by one hundred to alter the value of the numerical digits.
Download this teaching pack including a lesson plan, classroom activities and an interactive presentation to teach the children to practise multiplying different numbers by one hundred and record changes to the place value of their digits following each calculation
Activities in this teaching pack include a set of differentiated worksheets to identify and match products when multiplying different one and two digit numbers by one hundred and a set of cards to practise multiplying different numbers by one hundred by counting in steps of hundreds.
The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how to multiple different numbers by one hundred and record changes to the place value of their digits.
This lesson is part of a maths scheme of work to get the children to explore and model how the place value of the digits in different numbers change when multiplied and divided by ten and one hundred. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
