Lesson Two – Inside Foods

This design technology teaching pack for Key Stage One gets the children to explore, describe and compare the contents that can be seen inside of a range of different types of foods such as fruits and vegetables.

Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to identify and describe the contents of a range of different types of food and a template to select and record information about the inside contents of some foods to describe and compare their appearances, textures and tastes.

The interactive presentation can be used to explore and record the contents that can be seen inside a range of different types of foods such as fruits and vegetables.

This lesson is part of a design technology scheme of work to get the children to select and prepare a range of different foods to use when following a recipe to make a sandwich for a picnic. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
