Lesson Three – Tasting Tomatoes

Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to identify and define special vocabulary words that can be used to describe different types of food and a template to select and record information about appearance, texture and taste of some different types of tomatoes.

This lesson is part of a design technology scheme of work to get the children to select and prepare a range of different foods to use when following a recipe to make a sandwich for a picnic. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
