Lesson Five – Street Counting

This numeracy teaching pack for the Foundation Stage gets the children to practise counting number of different objects that can seen on a street in the local area working with each of the numbers to ten.
The class can select and utilise different numbers to ten to make matching sets of models to record some of the special things that can be found on a street in the local area.

Activities in this teaching pack include a template to count and record the numbers of different objects that can be found in a street near to the school and a worksheet to make sets of objects that can be found in a street near to the school to match numbers to ten.
The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how to count number of objects seen in the local area working with numbers to ten.
This lesson is part of a numeracy scheme of work to get the children to practise counting different numbers of objects to ten, match numerals to counted objects and sort numbers into their correct order. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
