Lesson Two – Snow and Ice

Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to identify and describe common weather patterns that can be experienced during the winter, a template to record changes that can occur to water when it has been frozen into ice and a worksheet to complete pictures to show the typical weather that might be experienced in the summer and winter.

The interactive presentation gets the children to explore some of the common weather patterns that can occur during the winter season.

This lesson is part of a curriculum topic scheme of work to get the children to explore how the weather changes during winter and its effect on the natural world including how water can freeze and turn to ice when the temperature falls below zero. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
