Lesson Two – Snow and Ice

Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to identify and describe common weather patterns that can be experienced during the winter season, a set of cards to group sets of vocabulary words that can be used to describe the season of winter and a template to create examples of ice shapes to demonstrate the process of freezing that can occur during the winter.
The interactive presentation gets the children to explore some of the common weather patterns that can be experienced during the winter season.
This lesson is part of a science scheme of work to get the children to identify, observe and record some of changes to the natural world during the winter season including changes to daylight hours, temperature and animal habitats. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
