Lesson Two – Sports Shoe

This curriculum topic teaching pack for the Foundation Stage gets the children to select and describe different types of materials that can be used in shoes that are suitable for playing a range of sports and games.

Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to suggest footwear that can be worn when playing different sports and games and materials that could be used to make parts of a sports shoe and a template to record the design for a shoe to play that can be worn when playing a type of sport.
The interactive presentation gets the children to explore different types of materials that can be used in shoes when playing a range of sports.
This lesson is part of a curriculum topic scheme of work to get the children to investigate, compare and test some of materials that can be used to make different types of footwear that are used for a range of functions. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
