Lesson One – Street Survey

Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to identify and describe different types of street furniture that might be seen in a location close to the school, a worksheet to count and record items of street furniture seen on different streets and roads in the school’s neighbourhood and a set of cards to construct and label a model of a street to show different items of street furniture.

The interactive presentation gets the children to explore and describe different types of objects and signs that can be found along a street in the school’s neighbourhood.

This lesson is part of a curriculum topic scheme of work to get the children to identify, describe and compare different types of buildings and objects that can be found on a street or road that is part of the school neighbourhood.
