Activities in this teaching pack include a shared reading text to identify and describe events and experiences that might happen in a specific location and a template to select and record information about something that might happen on a street in the local area close to the school.
The interactive presentation gets the children to explore some of the people, places, events and experiences that might be seen in the school’s neighbourhood.
This lesson is part of a curriculum topic scheme of work to get the children to identify, describe and compare different types of buildings and objects that can be found on a street or road that is part of the school neighbourhood. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
