Lesson Three – Flowers

This science teaching pack for Key Stage One gets the children to identify, locate and describe each of the main parts that can be found on a flowering plant to explain their function in helping a flower to grow.

Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to identify, locate and describe each of the main parts that can be found on a flowering plant, a worksheet and cards to identify and label each of the different parts of a flowering plant using an example illustration and a template to record the growth of a type of plant over a number of days.

This lesson is part of a science scheme of work to get the children to identify and describe the basic structure of a variety of common flowering plants and investigate and test how to support plant growth.
