Lesson One – Plant Parts

This science teaching pack for Key Stage Two gets the children to identify, define and learn the meaning of some vocabulary words that can be used to name and describe different parts of a flowering plant.

The class can practise labelling an illustration of a flowering plant to locate and name each of the special parts that are common to all plants such as the stem and leaves.

This lesson is part of a science scheme of work to get the children to identify and describe the common parts found on all plants and explain how plants can be used for different functions including food, shelter and clothing.
