Lesson Four – Addition Number Puzzles

Activities in this teaching pack include a worksheet to record how to solve a number puzzle when adding sets of one digit numbers to make sums to one hundred and a set of cards to match calculations when adding pairs of single digit numbers.

The interactive presentation gets the children to identify and explain how to solve number puzzles when adding sets of three digit numbers to match different sums using concrete equipment and diagrams to complete each calculation.

This lesson is part of a maths scheme of work to get the children to model and record how to solve number problems involving addition of pairs of two digit numbers including exchange between place value.
