Lesson One – Easter Shapes

This curriculum topic teaching pack for the Foundation Stage gets the children to identify and record the meaning behind some of the different symbols and shapes that can be used during Easter celebrations to remember what happened to Jesus.
The class can use a selection of colours and shapes to make a picture of one of the different shapes used to celebrate Easter by families.

Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to identify and describe the meaning behind some of the different shapes that can be used to represent Easter and a worksheet to select and record the name and illustration of an object that reminds Christians of the Easter story.
The interactive presentation gets the children to explore the meaning behind some of the different symbols and shapes used during Easter.
This lesson is part of a curriculum topic scheme of work to get the children to explore and illustrate the main sequence of events in the Easter story and understand the role of different characters in the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
