Lesson Five – Jesus in Jerusalem

This curriculum topic teaching pack for the Foundation Stage gets the children to investigate and record what happened to Jesus and the disciples in Jerusalem and sequence the matching story events leading up to Jesus’ crucifixion by the Romans.

The class can make models of some of the special meals that they might eat with their families as part of a celebration throughout the year.

Activities in this teaching pack include a shared reading text to identify the events in a story from the Bible about what happened during the time that Jesus was in Jerusalem and a set of cards to identify and sequence the main events that occurred in the Easter story.

The interactive presentation gets the children to explore what happened to Jesus and the disciples in Jerusalem and sequence the matching story events.

This lesson is part of a curriculum topic scheme of work to get the children to explore and illustrate the main sequence of events in the Easter story and understand the role of different characters in the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
