Lesson Two – Munching Foods

Activities in this teaching pack include a template to practise writing alphabet letters to match initial phoneme sounds for some of their favourite foods and a set of cards to identify and complete different sections of the alphabet to record matching sets of three letters.
The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how to sequence parts of a story about a caterpillar that uses patterned language to describe events experienced by the main character.
This lesson is part of a literacy scheme of work to get the children to investigate examples of patterned language used to sequence events in a story about a caterpillar and learn the names and sounds for each letter of the alphabet. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
