This curriculum topic scheme of work for the Foundation Stage gets the children to identify, describe and compare the range of products that can be sold in a supermarket and role-play buying and paying for shopping lists. The class can make lists of items that can be bought in a supermarket to match different events.

Practise sorting different types of foods sold in a supermarket into groups by their packaging

Lesson Five : Shopping Bag
Select and sort a range of foods into different groups to make comparisons based on their types

Identify and role-play how to buy different products when shopping at the supermarket
