Lesson Six – Class Picnic

Activities in this teaching pack include a shared reading text to explain the sequence of steps that can be followed when making a sandwich for a picnic and a template to select and record some of the foods that they can use in a picnic sandwich.
The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how to prepare some different foods when following sets of instructions to get ready for a picnic.
This lesson is part of a curriculum topic scheme of work to get the children to select, identify and prepare different types of foods for a picnic including sandwiches and fruit juice drinks by compiling shopping lists for a class outing. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
