Lesson Five – Picnic Lists

Activities in this teaching pack include a shared reading text to explain the sequence of steps that can be followed when making a sandwich for a picnic and a template to select and record some of the different foods that can be bought by a family for a summer picnic.
The interactive presentation gets the children to explore and record lists of some of the special food and equipment that are needed for a summer picnic.
This lesson is part of a curriculum topic scheme of work to get the children to select, identify and prepare different types of foods for a picnic including sandwiches and fruit juice drinks by compiling shopping lists for a class outing. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
