Lesson One – Decimal Lines

This maths teaching pack for Key Stage Two gets the children to identify and record some of the different calculation rules that can be used to extend a selection of number lines involving decimals numbers to two places.
The class can explain and model how the digits in a decimal number can change their place value following an addition or subtraction calculation when building each number line.

This lesson is part of a maths scheme of work to get the children to identify and record changes to place value when multiplying and dividing decimals and whole numbers by ten, one hundred and one thousand.
