Shape Areas

This maths scheme of work for Key Stage Two gets the children to identify and model how to find the areas of different shapes by multiplying measured widths and lengths using standard methods of calculation. The class can explain how to measure and multiply widths and lengths to find each shape area.

Rectangle Areas
Practise using multiplication number calculations to find and record the areas of some different sized rectangle shapes in square centimetres

Shape Sizes
Investigate how to calculate and record the areas of different sized rectangle shapes using matching measurements in square centimetres, millimetres and metres

Widths and Lengths
Identify and record the possible widths and lengths in whole centimetre measurements to match the areas of some different sized rectangle shapes
