Wonders of the World

This English teaching pack for Key Stage Two gets the children to practise researching and writing a report to locate, describe and compare one of the physical wonders that can be found in locations around the world.
The class can identify and explain how to use special vocabulary words and sentence structures to format their report about the uniqueness of one of the special locations.

Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to identify and describe natural physical features found in the world, a shared reading text to explain how to format and structure a report about the Grand Canyon, templates to research a wonder of the world and structure and format a written report and a worksheet to edit and correct the format and structure of a report.
The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how to research and write a report to locate, describe and compare a physical wonder of the world.
This lesson is part of an English scheme of work to get the children to practise researching and recording information about a special location that can be found in the world to use when composing and publishing a written report. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
