Lesson Two – Output Commands

This computing teaching pack for Key Stage Two gets the children to practise selecting and entering a range of commands to control and manage different outputs for specific purposes using a control box.

The class can explain and model what happens when adjusting some of the variables for different inputs using a control box such as timing and wait functions.

Download this teaching pack including a lesson plan, classroom activities and an interactive presentation to practise selecting and entering a range of commands to control and manage different outputs for specific purposes using a control box

Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to identify and explain how specific inputs can result in different outputs and a worksheet to select and record outputs for different input commands using a control box to show the matching results.

The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how to select and enter a range of commands to control different outputs using a control box.

This lesson is part of a computing scheme of work to get the children to practise selecting and entering commands to control different procedures and outcomes to match specific functions when using light. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
