Lesson Two – Viking Art

This art and design teaching pack for Key Stage Two gets the children to investigate how to research and illustrate examples of some of the special shapes and patterns that have been used on a range of different Viking artefacts.

Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to describe some of the shapes and patterns that can be seen on different historical artefacts and a table display card to identify and record some of the special shapes and patterns that are visible on artefacts used by the Vikings in the past.

The interactive presentation can be used to explore how to research and record examples of shapes and patterns that have been used on Viking artefacts.

This lesson is part of an art and design scheme of work to get the children to develop and refine a range of different art and design techniques when working with clay to make pots that represent Viking culture and traditions.
