Lesson Three – Sentence Words

This maths teaching pack for Key Stage One gets the children to practise using ordinal numbers to identify and record some of the words that can be found in different sentences in the pages that are part of a topic book.

The class can explain and model how to compare the values of numbers from one to ten that have been recorded in both numerals and words in the selected sentences.

Download this teaching pack including a lesson plan, classroom activities and an interactive presentation to practise using ordinal numbers to identify and record some of the words that can be found in different sentences in the pages that are part of a topic book

Activities in this teaching pack include a differentiated set of worksheets to find and record each of the words that can be found in different sentences in a topic book to match ordinal numbers so that their number values can be identified and compared.

The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how to use ordinal numbers to record some of the words that can be found in different sentences in a book.

This lesson is part of a maths scheme of work to get the children to identify, describe and record the order and sequence of all of the numbers to ten shown using words and digits and for ordinal numbers. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
