Garden Numbers

This maths scheme of work for Key Stage One gets the children to identify and model some of the different calculation techniques that can be used when adding pairs of single digit numbers. The class can use counting on, concrete equipment and pictorial diagrams when completing each addition calculation.

Garden Insects

Explain and model how to use number bonds to ten to practise adding pairs of single digit numbers to count the numbers of insects living in a garden

Garden Flowers

Select and record different addition calculations with sums to ten using numbers of garden flowers that have been recorded in both words and digits

Butterfly Numbers

Identify and record pairs of numbers that make a sum of ten to show the different types of butterflies that might visit a family garden in the spring and summer

Flower Numbers

Explain and model how to use pictorial diagrams to support counting on when adding pairs of single digit numbers to show different types of flowers growing in a garden
