Activities in this teaching pack include a shared reading text to identify and define special vocabulary words used in a poem to describe different parts of an animal, a set of cards to select and group matching synonyms for words that can be used to describe the sizes of different animals and a worksheet to list matching synonyms for words that can be used to describe how animals are the same or different.

The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how to order vocabulary words that could be used in noun phrases to describe the sizes of different animals.
