Lesson One – Tools and Utensils

This computing teaching pack for Key Stage One gets the children to design and produce a selection of word processed labels for a range of tools and utensils used for different functions in a family household.

Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to explain how to identify and describe things that can be used in a family home and a worksheet to identify and describe how to label different objects used in a family home for a range of purposes using a selection of font styles.
The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how to produce different word processed labels for a range of household objects and utensils.
This lesson is part of a computing scheme of work to get the children to practise structuring and formatting different documents to make labels describing rooms and objects that can be found in a range of family homes. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
