Easter Shapes

This numeracy scheme of work for the Foundation Stage gets the children to identify and describe the properties of different 2D shapes when creating food snacks and decorations to celebrate Easter. The class can explain what make a shape special and unique from some other shapes.

Easter Flowers
Practise making models of different flower shapes to produce decorations for Easter by melting and shaping chocolate to create a range of food snacks

Bunny Biscuits
Explore and model how to bake a selection of biscuits using different 2D shapes that can be used to represent Easter themes and celebrations

Easter Cakes
Practise using coloured marzipan to create a range of different symbols and shapes that can be used to decorate cup cakes to serve at a family party for Easter

Explain and model how to find and record the halves of some of the different objects that can be used at home and in school
