Lesson Two – Story People
This literacy teaching pack for the Foundation Stage gets the children to identify, describe and role-play some of the special characters that could feature in different traditional stories to illustrate how and why they are important to the narrative.
The class can practise playing a spelling game to match different words with the initial phoneme sounds for the letters c and k that can be used when describing a range of story characters.

This lesson is part of a literacy scheme of work to get the children to role-play different traditional stories using drama and speaking and listening skills and match initial phonemes in cvc words to letters of the alphabet. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
