Activities in this teaching pack include sets of cards to identify and build a range of different cvc words that begin with the letter /c/ to use when describing events in the narrative of a traditional story and role-play dialogue that might be spoken by different story characters in traditional stories.

The interactive presentation gets the children to explore some of the events that can happen in traditional stories and suggest matching character dialogue.

This lesson is part of a literacy scheme of work to get the children to role-play different traditional stories using drama and speaking and listening skills and match initial phonemes in cvc words to letters of the alphabet. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
