Lesson Two – Reindeer Stables

This literacy teaching pack for the Foundation Stage gets the children to record and sequence some of the different jobs and actions that Santa can follow when caring for reindeer at the North Pole in their stables.
The class can make and label models of reindeer to indicate one of jobs that Santa can perform to look after his animals in their stables such as feeding them carrots and sweeping the hay.

This lesson is part of a literacy scheme of work to get the children to record and sequence recounts to describe the activities of characters who live and work at the North Pole including Santa Claus, the elves and the reindeer. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
