Lesson Four – Christmas Eve

This literacy teaching pack for the Foundation Stage gets the children to identify and sequence some of the different actions and jobs that Santa might need to perform on Christmas Eve when delivering presents around the world.

The class can create model Christmas tree decorations illustrating some of the jobs that Santa can complete when working at the North Pole.

Activities in this teaching pack include a shared reading text to identify and describe some of the actions and jobs that Santa might need to perform on Christmas Eve and templates to select and record something that Santa might need to do at the North Pole and make a model of a Christmas tree ornament.

The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how to sequence some of the different actions and jobs that Santa might need to perform on Christmas Eve.

This lesson is part of a literacy scheme of work to get the children to record and sequence recounts to describe the activities of characters who live and work at the North Pole including Santa Claus, the elves and the reindeer. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
