Lesson Four – Reindeer

Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to name different parts of a reindeer and suggest how they can be used by the animal to stay safe during the winter, a set of cards to name, locate and label different parts of a reindeer visible on a photograph and a template to identify and record the functions of different parts of a reindeer used to adapt to winter conditions.
The interactive presentation gets the children to explore and record information about a type of animal that has adapted to living in winter conditions
This lesson is part of a curriculum topic scheme of work to get the children to explore how animals adapt to the changes to the natural world in the winter including animals that live in Britain and other habitats such as the arctic. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
