Lesson One – Sandcastles

This art and design teaching pack for Key Stage One gets the children to practise using sand to create and describe some different shapes and patterns that might be seen on a sandcastle built on a sandy beach.

The class can identify and describe some of the 3D shapes that can be moulded when making different parts of a sandcastle such as cuboids for the walls and cones for the turrets.
