Lesson Five – Antarctic Crossing

This history teaching pack for Key Stage One gets the children to practise writing diary entries to describe and record what happened during Shackleton’s explorations across the Antarctic in the past.

The class can identify the sequence of events as to how Shackleton and his crew crossed the Antarctic after their ship sank into the sea to seek rescue on an island.

Download this teaching pack including a lesson plan, classroom activities and an interactive presentation to practise writing diary entries to describe and record what happened during Shackleton’s explorations across the Antarctic in the past
