Plant Growth

This science scheme of work for Key Stage Two gets the children to investigate and record the life cycle of plants as they grow from seeds or bulbs into flowers and identify the factors that can affect their growth. The class can perform tests and research information to identify facts that can explain how and why plants grow.

Investigate and record the life cycle of plants as they grow from seeds or bulbs into different flowers and identify the factors that can affect their growth

Lesson One : Plant Stems
Practise conducting an investigation to observe, explain and record how water is transported around a plant using the stem

Lesson Two : Growing Seeds

Lesson Six : Plant Fayre
Practise researching and presenting collected facts and information about how different plants can grow and develop over a period of time
