This curriculum topic teaching pack for the Foundation Stage gets the children to identify and describe some of the changes that can happen to trees during different seasons of the year.
The class can make models of leaf shapes with different colours to add to tree shapes to illustrate how a deciduous tree can change during the summer, autumn, winter and spring.

Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to identify and describe how trees can change during the four seasons of the year and a template to add materials to tree shapes to show changes to trees during the autumn, winter, spring and summer seasons.
The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how deciduous trees can change during the four seasons of the year including changes to the colour of leaves.
This lesson is part of a curriculum topic scheme of work to get the children to investigate changes to different trees during the autumn and explore how this affects animals that live in a woodland habitat including owls and squirrels. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
