Activities in this teaching pack include a set of cards to identify and build a range of different cvc words that begin with the letter /k/ phoneme sound and a worksheet to record where the letter /k/ can be found in a group of different letters from the alphabet.

The interactive presentation gets the children to explore some of the characters that can feature in traditional stories and identify words beginning with /k/.

This lesson is part of a literacy scheme of work to get the children to role-play different traditional stories using drama and speaking and listening skills and match initial phonemes in cvc words to letters of the alphabet.
