Lesson Three – Pedestrian Crossings

Activities in this teaching pack include a shared reading text to identify some of the reasons for different road crossings that could be built on a road close to the school and a template to select and record reasons for building a special type of crossing on a road near to the school.

The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how to record and assess the safety aspects of different road crossings that might be found on roads close to the school.

This lesson is part of a geography scheme of work to get the children to identify, describe and compare some of the different traffic hazards and dangers that can be encountered when making journeys in the local area.
