Lesson Five – Building Walls

Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to identify and describe some of the common materials that can be used to build household objects and a worksheet to test a selection of walls made from different materials for their strength, permeability and durability.
The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how to describe and compare different some of the materials that can be used to build walls in a house.
This lesson is part of a science scheme of work to get the children to identify, group and compare a variety of everyday materials used for a range of different functions on the basis of their physical properties.
