Download this teaching pack including a lesson plan, classroom activities and an interactive presentation to explore and illustrate some of the different ways of changing the size and shape of shadows that have been produced by light from the Sun

Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to identify and explain different ways of changing the shadow of an object and a worksheet to identify and record some of the changes that can happen to different shadows made by the light from the Sun during the course of one day.

The interactive presentation can be used to explore and illustrate ways of changing the size and shape of shadows that have been produced by the Sun.

This lesson is part of a science scheme of work to get the children to investigate and record how a range of light sources including the sun can make and change shadows using different opaque materials. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
