This science teaching pack for Key Stage Two gets the children to create and build a range of different circuits with the correct symbols that can be used to light bulbs and power other electrical components.

The class can explain and model how to identify and change the voltage of a specific circuit when lighting a series of bulbs together using sets of batteries to match the bulb’s wattage.

Download this teaching pack including a lesson plan, classroom activities and an interactive presentation to create and build a range of different circuits with the correct symbols that can be used to light bulbs and power other electrical components

Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to identify and describe different ways of constructing complete circuits and a set of cards to design and create a range of electrical circuits that can be used to light bulbs and power other electrical components.

The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how to build a range of different circuits to light bulbs and use other electrical components.

This lesson is part of a science scheme of work to get the children to devise and construct different electrical circuits that can be used to control electrical devices for a range of specific functions in a family home. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
