Lesson Six – Rugby Skills

This physical education teaching pack for Key Stage Two gets the children to model how to write and use sets of instructions about how to teach the range of ball skills needed to play a team game of rugby.

Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to explain how to teach skills in passing, receiving, moving and tackling when playing a team game of rugby and a template to record how to write instructions to teach other classes in the school some rugby skills.

The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how to use instructions to teach the range of skills needed to play a team game of rugby.

This lesson is part of a PE scheme of work to get the children to practise and develop a range of skills in moving, passing and tackling that can be utilised when playing small sided teams games in rugby. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
