Alien Worlds

This music scheme of work for Key Stage Two gets the children to identify, describe and compose rhythm patterns and musical compositions to illustrate moods and objects connected to space when visiting other planets. The class can devise compositions using tuned and untuned instruments to represent alien worlds.

Lesson Two : Rocket Rhythms
Develop and compose eight beat rhythm patterns to reflect space travel by rocket through space

Lesson Three : Mars
Compose pieces of music to represent different expressions and themes about the planet Mars

Lesson Four : Venus
Select and compose pieces of music to represent different expressions and themes about the planet of Venus

Lesson Five : Planets
Devise and perform musical compositions using tuned instruments to represent different planets in the Solar System

Lesson Six : Alien Moods
Select and devise musical compositions to reflect different ideas and emotions about planets in the Solar System
