Pizza Toppings

This maths teaching pack for Key Stage Two gets the children to explain and model how to calculate the mass of pairs of toppings added to a pizza using informal addition calculations when adding multiples of fifty and one hundred.
The class can select and illustrate some of the number calculation techniques that they can used when adding the pairs of measurements to find each total mass.
Download this teaching pack including classroom activities and an interactive presentation to explain and model how to calculate the mass of pairs of toppings added to a pizza using informal addition calculations when adding multiples of fifty and one hundred
Activities in this teaching pack include a differentiated set of worksheets to select and calculate the mass of pairs of toppings that can be added to a pizza with measurements in multiples of one hundred grams for support ability levels and multiples of fifty and one hundred grams for core and extension ability levels using information written addition methods.
The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how to calculate the mass of pairs of toppings added to a pizza using addition number calculation skills.
This lesson is part of a maths scheme of work to get the children to practise solving a range of addition number problems using measurements for length, mass and capacity in a range of units. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
