Shape Angles

This maths scheme of work for Key Stage Two gets the children to identify, record and classify some of the different types of angles that form the individual properties of a range of 2D shapes. The can practise using protractors and number calculations to find he values of the angles in different shapes.

2D Shape Angles
Identify, record and compare the different types of angles that can be found on a range of 2D shapes including right, acute and obtuse angles

Triangle Angle Sums
Identify and calculate the size of some of the different types of angles that can be found in a range of triangular shapes including equilateral and isosceles triangles

Triangle Angle Match
Identify and record a selection of different shaped triangles that match the sets of three angles for the sum of one hundred and eighty degrees for each shape

Parallelogram Angles
Identify, classify and calculate the size of each of the four angles that can be found in different example parallelogram shapes

Angle Measurements
Explain and model how to measure and calculate the different types of angles that can be found in a range of shapes including triangles and quadrilaterals
-
Cities, Towns and Villages
Research and present the history of a range of different buildings and people that are part of the local community using a school exhibition
-
Recycling
Research and present some of the benefits and disadvantages that can be produced when recycling different materials at home and in school
-
Viking Pots
Develop and refine a range of different art and design techniques when working with clay to make pots that represent Viking culture and traditions
-
Bronze Age
Research and illustrate how life in Britain developed and changed during the Bronze Age including the growth of communities and trade
