This history teaching pack for Key Stage Two gets the children to investigate and illustrate some of the religious beliefs of the Maya in different gods and the afterlife.
The class can identify and sort a set of facts and information about religion in the Mayan civilization as true or false and suggest how historians could use primary sources to find out about life in the past.

Activities in this teaching pack include a shared reading text to identify and describe how the Maya believed in gods and the afterlife as part of their religious beliefs and a set of cards to group and prove facts and information about the Mayan civilization as true or false.
The interactive presentation gets the children to explore some of the religious beliefs of the Mayan civilization in different gods and the afterlife and suggest how historians could find out about different aspects of their culture using primary resources.
