Lesson Six – Ancient Egypt Map

This history teaching pack for Key Stage Two gets the children to practise identifying, locating and describing some of the special places that were part of the Ancient Egyptian civilization by using a map of Egypt as part of the African continent.

Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to locate Egypt as part of the continent of Africa and label some of the special places that were important in the Ancient Egyptian civilization and worksheets to identify and record the location of important places in Ancient Egypt on a map of the country.
The interactive presentation can be used to explore and record the location and importance of different places in the Ancient Egyptian civilization.
This lesson is part of a history scheme of work to get the children to explore how and why the Ancient Egyptians constructed and used different pyramids and tombs to reflect their beliefs about the afterlife. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
