Lesson One – Non-recyclable

Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to identify and describe different materials that can be recycled and design a logo for some materials that cannot be recycled and a template to select and record the design for a logo to indicate a household material that is non-recyclable.

The interactive presentation can be used to explore how to design a selection of symbols to encourage families to recycle a range of different materials at home.

This lesson is part of a geography scheme of work to get the children to research and present some of the benefits and disadvantages that can be produced when recycling different materials at home and in school. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
